WHAT IS ROSACEA?

Rosacea is a hereditary condition that is characterised by persistent redness in the central part of the face and sometimes swollen, red bumps and pimples resembling acne. In some people it can also affect the eyes and result in red, swollen, irritated, dry eyes and eye lids. This skin alteration is more common in people with lighter skin tones that are also very sensitive to environmental aggressions. Rosacea starts with congested skin and can experience periods of strong, red inflammation. As a result of these conditions the skin starts to peel, which is a symptom that does not happen in the case of skin with couperose. The difference between rosacea and couperose is the fact that couperose is linked to the capillaries while in the case of rosacea the entire skin (and not the capillaries) are affected and inflammation is present.

Small pimples are very often present and therefore this skin alteration is also called acne rosacea. Although the causes of rosacea with acne and the internal treatment recommendations are very similar, we have created a specific skin treatment for rosacea with acne.

CAUSES AND TRIGGERS OF ROSACEA

CAUSES AND TRIGGERS OF ROSACEA

We see more and more rosacea cases and many young people as well as children are affected.
The main culprits are a bad diet, an unbalanced intestinal flora and how we process emotional stress. The external treatment of rosacea consists of calming the skin and restoring the hydrolipidic film. It is essential to also address the internal causes and aggravating factors to achieve definitive and long lasting results.
