Treatment for Oily Skin
The treatment for oily skin aims to balance the sebum production of the skin. This type of skin has a medium thickness and functions almost like normal skin, its main issue being a shiny appearance. The sebaceous glands secrete more, especially in areas like the face, back, and chest. Oily skin frequently appears together with keratosis (opacity of the outer skin layer, the stratum corneum, giving the skin a yellowish or greyish hue). On the other hand, this skin type has excellent defensive and regenerative capabilities.
Additionally, oily skin resists the visible signs of aging better than dry skin. It generally has robust self-protection abilities, exhibits good pigmentation, and has a reduced risk of sunburn. It is also less affected by abrupt changes in temperature and climate. However, based on various factors, oily skin can be more susceptible to hyperpigmentation and acne. Skincare products that dry out or suffocate the skin might increase sebum production, resulting in a vicious circle and aggravating the condition of oily skin.
